Legacy Garden: Helen Zughaib

(K-5th | 3×45 min)

In this lesson artists will create their own ‘Legacy Garden’ collages, imagining what they’d want to plant for future generations. This project is inspired by Arab artist Helen Zughaib’s painting ‘Planting Olive Trees with Jiddu’ that accompanies a story told to her by her father who grew up in Lebanon and Syria. Each artist will craft a scene that reflects their hopes, dreams, and values.

Each lesson comes with a step-by-step art video tutorial and downloadable lesson plan designed to make teaching easy and learning fun.

You get:

  • A guided video to learn from and reteach or play directly for your artists
  • A printable PDF with learning objectives, vocabulary, “I Can” statements, shoppable supply lists, teaching tips, and step-by-step process.
