Giant Braille Names
(K-5th | 2×40 min)
In this sensory art lesson, artists will learn about Louis Braille and explore how the braille alphabet works. They’ll paint a background with their eyes closed to tap into their sense of touch and then build a large tactile version of their name using raised dots made from modeling clay or Model Magic. This project is an introduction to understanding accessibility for blind people through art.
Each lesson comes with a step-by-step art video tutorial and downloadable lesson plan designed to make teaching easy and learning fun.
You get:
- A guided video to learn from and reteach or play directly for your artists
- A printable PDF with learning objectives, vocabulary, “I Can” statements, shoppable supply lists, teaching tips, and step-by-step process.
