Clay Portraits
(2nd-5th | 45 min)
In this lesson, artists will learn how to make a portrait with clay. A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or piece of art of a person, where the face and its expression take up most of the space. The goal is to show the personality, mood, and features of the person. Artists can make a clay portrait that resembles themselves or expand beyond their likeness by adding accessories that they like.
This is a 2 part project.
In the first part, artists will work with air dry clay to create a self portrait.
In the second part, artists will color their dried clay portrait.
