Reassigned to teach art after 7 years of PE
with Emily Wittmann
Drowning in a sea of new standards and foreign materials, Studio Sprout became her anchor.

What was it like before you found Studio Sprout?
I struggled to put together an art curriculum. I was still learning which projects to use with each grade and material choices were exciting but overwhelming.
Finding your video tutorials and step-by-step lesson plans were a saving grace.
I’ve learned so much from you about materials and techniques and that’s given me more confidence to add my own ideas to projects.
The supply lists are really helpful too. They get me organized which saves me time – I can plan ahead and go into the week knowing what to prep.

What was your first impression of Studio Sprout?
I asked you a follow-up question to one of your lessons and you wrote me back directly.
From the moment I reached out—even before I became a member—you were offering to help me. That kindness meant a lot to me.

What do your students think of Studio Sprout Projects?
The first Studio Sprout lesson we did was the Affirmation Portraits. It is a universally loved project at our school. I even got their classroom teachers involved.
The steps are easy to follow, and the end results are SPECTACULAR.

How does Studio Sprout continue to support you in the classroom?
Wow, that’s hard to narrow down. There are so many ways. Here are a few things off the top of my head:
1. The projects are accessible to all different levels of learners.
2. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the high quality videos and how you pace the projects.
3. I’m constantly learning about new artists, especially all the contemporary ones and my kids can really relate.
4. You often show a simpler or better way to achieve a desired result—or on the flip side, how to add complexity for when my kids need more challenge.

Is there anything else you want to share?
I love how each project leaves wiggle room for my students.
The art comes out unique and I notice my students thrive with projects that are a balance of exploration and structure which is how I would describe your lessons.
Also, I think I told you already, but I have even more Studio Sprout projects in the line-up for this year.
Studio Sprout lessons have found a solid place in my curriculum and I’m definitely keeping my membership.
